Special dive site
Badian Sanctuary, Sunken Island, and Lambug Beach are not part of Moalboal, but are located in neighboring villages. These are highly recommended, offering fascinating and challenging experiences. However, reservations for at least eight people must be confirmed at least one week in advance, and a special permit is required.

Panagsama Beach(DiveStory House Reef) is a world-famous dive site because of the sardine ball that can be found just a few meters below the surface within snorkeling distance from the beach. This is an amazing experience for all levels of divers.
The world-famous ball of Sardines often attracts tuna, mackerel, and even the famous Philippines thresher sharks.
Pescador Island features the “Cathedral“ cavern, starting at 18m and descending beyond 40m, with pockets, bridges, and swim-throughs. Dives begin on a coral-covered plateau transitioning into a slope, concluding on another plateau rich in marine life. Currents can be challenging.
The island’s ecosystem hosts scorpionfish, razorfish, sweetlips, potato groupers, snappers, tuna, barracudas, and various small marine species.
Pescador Island’s east side, near Moalboal, Cebu, features a dive starting at a 5m plateau descending to 65m along a coral-covered slope. The dive concludes on a plateau rich in small marine life, also ideal for snorkeling.
This site hosts scorpionfish, razorfish, sweetlips, potato groupers, snappers, tuna, and barracuda. The plateau shelters small marine life, including nudibranchs and shrimps.
The south side of Pescador Island offers calm, safe entry points ideal for both divers and snorkelers. Protected from strong waves, it’s perfect during rough sea conditions. The area allows for east or west drift dives and provides adventure in shallow, manageable depths.
Shallow waters host vibrant coral gardens and rich marine life. Expect sightings of reef fish, turtles, and occasional pelagics depending on the current.
The north side of Pescador Island offers a thrilling dive for advanced divers. A steep drop-off leads to depths of around 50 meters. Strong currents and waves make this site physically demanding, requiring skill and experience for a safe, rewarding dive.
Though conditions are tough, divers may encounter large pelagic species and reef fish along the drop-off, often drawn in by the strong currents and deep waters.
There is no specific dive site named “Talisay” in Moalboal; however, there is a Talisay Wall, which is a popular wall dive site known for its colorful corals and wide variety of marine life, including parrotfish, lionfish, and sea turtles. Moalboal has numerous other dive sites, with the famous sardine run occurring just off Panagsama Beach.

Often called “Turtle Village,” this site is the real turtle point of Moalboal. It offers an extraordinary experience where divers can encounter up to 30 turtles in a single dive. Calm waters and easy access make it a must-visit for turtle enthusiasts.
The site is famous for its high concentration of sea turtles. Divers can also spot reef fish and corals, but the main highlight is the frequent turtle encounters.
This shallow muck diving site, with a depth of 5–10 meters and good visibility, features a sandy bottom dotted with large rocks and minimal current. Ideal for afternoon dives and open water training, it offers easy conditions and a rich macro environment.
Divers can spot boxer shrimps, signal gobies, nudibranchs, pegasus, and chocolate starfish. The site is perfect for observing a variety of small marine life.
Balabagun Point is a well-known muck diving site offering a wide, shallow area ideal for macro photography and exploration. Its silty bottom hosts a variety of small marine species, making it perfect for divers seeking unique underwater encounters in calm waters.
The site is rich in macro life such as nudibranchs, shrimps, frogfish, and other rare critters, making it a favorite for underwater photographers and enthusiasts.
BANAWOG is the Visayan word for Black Coral. In the past, this area had an abundance of Black Coral, which was harvested and sold as souvenirs. However, it is now strictly prohibited by law. The location is situated inside a bay, which means it is rarely affected by typhoons and features beautiful, healthy coral reefs. You can specifically see a lot of Black Coral, which is also the name of the dive site.
Badian Island offers beach-accessible dive sites suitable for all levels, as well as the nearby Sunken Island for advanced divers. Reached by boat, the island provides a relaxing atmosphere, with diving available by special request and typically coordinated via resort trips.
Divers may encounter reef fish, soft and hard corals near the island, while Sunken Island hosts pelagic species, lionfish, and occasional sharks in deeper waters.
Lambug Beach offers a peaceful environment ideal for snorkeling and recreational diving. Its calm, clear waters and nearby coral gardens make it a suitable site for beginners and casual underwater exploration, with easy shore access and gentle conditions.
The coral gardens host various reef fish, soft and hard corals, and small marine creatures, providing a colorful and relaxing underwater experience.
Sunken Island is an underwater pinnacle with its summit at 25 meters deep. Accessible only by boat, it’s known for strong currents and open water descent. Recommended for experienced divers, it offers thrilling conditions and stunning marine biodiversity.
Divers can spot jackfish, batfish, lionfish, frogfish, and pelagic species. Sharks and manta rays may also appear in this deep, current-swept site.
The White House Scuba Diving Lodge offers direct access to nearby dive sites, including the impressive House Reef. This site features a steep wall drop starting just 30 meters from shore, descending to 60–70 meters. Ideal for various skill levels, it offers both shore and boat dives.
The House Reef is home to vibrant corals, large sea fans, sponges, and diverse marine life including sea turtles, making it a rich and colorful underwater habitat.
Kasai Wall offer a shallow end with beautiful scenery of many hundreds of coral species attracting many critters like reef fish and sea turtles. Over the edge of the reef a wall is formed dropping down to about 40m. At the bottom of the wall you can find the entry to the Kasai Cave that stretches about 140m in.
Common to find green sea turtles and many different types of critters such as nudibranch, pipefish, frogfish and shrimps. Other common reef fish can also be spotted on the dive.
Tuble Point is a wall dive site featuring vertical cliffs, caves, and healthy coral reefs that drop from 3m to 40m. Highlights include sea fan forests, small caves, and the chance to see large fish like tunas and jacks. Visibility ranges from 10–22m, ideal for all levels.
Tuble is home to sea snakes, nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, scorpionfish, pipefish, stonefish, and squid. Big fish like turtles and parrotfish also appear often.
Lo-oc is a captivating wall dive site known for its rich marine biodiversity and underwater caverns. Decorated with colorful soft corals, it offers adventurous swim-throughs and varied topography. Suitable for all levels, Lo-oc promises a memorable dive experience.
Lo-oc features diverse coral species and is especially known for its frogfish. Divers may also spot a variety of reef fish, sponges, and invertebrates.
Dolphin House is a popular dive site featuring a sloping reef that turns into a wall at around 20 meters depth. Adorned with soft and hard corals, sea fans, and overhangs, it offers excellent visibility and varied terrain, ideal for divers of all levels.
The site hosts sea turtles, frogfish, scorpionfish, bubble coral shrimp, blackbelt hogfish, tunicates, and nudibranchs among vibrant corals and sponges.
White Beach features a sandy slope that turns into a vibrant wall dive starting around 22 meters deep. It offers excellent visibility, diverse coral formations, caves, and reef structures. Suitable for all experience levels, it’s ideal for scenic and macro dives.
Divers can see ghost pipefish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, garden eels, flounders, triggerfish, turtles, snappers, potato groupers, and colorful reef fish.
This newly established dive site in front of Club Serena Resort offers a serene experience with healthy coral formations and light currents. Divers can enjoy the extended ecosystem of White Beach in a peaceful setting, ideal for relaxed exploration and scenic dives.
The site features a well-preserved mix of soft and hard corals, reef fish, and macro life. Its low diver traffic helps maintain a healthy marine ecosystem.
Fish Feeding is a vibrant slope dive site reaching depths of up to 35 meters, filled with colorful hard and soft corals. Despite the name, no feeding is done here. With excellent visibility and calm conditions, it’s ideal for all diver levels seeking natural marine beauty.
The site hosts sea turtles, ghost pipefish, shrimps, crabs, and a variety of reef fish like triggerfish and parrotfish among rich coral and anemone habitats.
Airplane Wreck is one of the few dive sites in Moalboal that has a sandy bottom. The Airplane Wreck has now drifted down to a depth of 80 meters. However, the magnificent vertical wall and the colorful macro creatures that once stood still remain.
This dive site is famous for great macro opportunities with lots of rare critters along the sandy bottom, corals, and a deep wall.
Marine Sanctuary features a coral-covered slope leading to a dramatic wall drop from 18 to 55 meters. Known for massive gorgonian sea fans and diverse coral species, this protected site offers excellent macro and wide-angle opportunities for divers of all levels.
Home to ghost pipefish, pygmies, leaf fish, groupers, nudibranchs, sea turtles, eagle rays, and blacktip reef sharks, the site offers vibrant macro and pelagic life.
